December, 2019 – January 2020: Four Advanced OSF Sessions in Brescia, Italy

Monday, 16 December, 2019
Saturday, 21 December, 2019
Monday, 30 December 2019
Monday, 6 January 2020

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Designed for those who’ve experienced the full spectrum (3 weeks) of Introductory OSF or SRT, & want to deepen their practice, &/or pursue OSF Teacher Certification in future.
Facilitated by Stephanie Skura & Nate Dryden

LOCATION

i.dan.ce
(International Dance Center, formerly Container12)
Via Giosuè Carducci, 12 / E
2582 Botticino BS
Italy
[Note: Botticino is just east of Brescia]

Advanced OSF material is deeply rooted in & fluidly expanded from advanced Skinner Releasing practice. It’s where OSF/SRT Introductory work is headed! New alignment insights, new depths, more & deeper deep-states, transporting imagery.  Joan Skinner did not intend Advanced Level SRT to be codified or limited to 12 ‘Ongoing’ SRT classes.  She left us with a wealth of material not included in those 12 classes. Our advanced sessions are culled from decades of notes, explorations, & advanced material passed on by Joan & other veterans, & integrated with Stephanie’s improvisation experiments — material developed & augmented by Stephanie & other experienced SRT teachers during the past 25 years. This level of the practice is sophisticated, deep, evolved in alignment approaches — richly navigating states below conscious level.

Stephanie is the only SRT or OSF teacher on the planet, that we know of, currently creating classes at this advanced level !

FEES

Special rate of €25 per session if paid in advance (at least two sessions, or €50). If not paid in advance, regular drop-in rate is €30 per session.

These sessions are inclusive, welcoming & vitally useful for both newcomers to the practice & experienced practitioners. OSF is deeply rooted in & fluidly expanded from Skinner Releasing Technique. We integrate introductory OSF with improvisational experiments developed by Skura over three decades of interdisciplinary choreographic research.

Cost: €150 or €120 if full payment received by 20 November, 2019.
(Participants need to begin on Day 1 & attend consecutive days. Drop-ins OK only with significant experience in OSF or SRT)

Deeply rooted in & fluidly expanded from Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT), OSF involves shedding outer layers, accessing primal energy, agility navigating subconscious realms, imagery as potent tool for transformation, & developing a high degree of consciousness without self-consciousness. This work celebrates diversity, collaboration & individual empowerment: free of inhibition, accessing intuition, inviting the mind to collaborate. OSF sessions offer potent tools to access freedom, specificity & courage in movement, vocal practice & creative practice. A key aspect is individual creative empowerment as an instigator of positive change on the planet.

“Working with you creatively has instigated some of the most juicy & inspiring dancing times of my life… Offers the range from physical to embodied intellectual to creative composition…So much care & respect for the people with whom you share the learning space.” (OSF Participants)

For people interested in learning to teach OSF who need more experience in the practice before entering the OSF Teacher Certification Program. It includes the full spectrum of introductory OSF material, improvisation sessions, & in-depth discussions about methods & underlying concepts.

Though not a commitment to the full OSF Teacher Certification Program, the 3-week Pre-Training Program provides prerequisites** & a sense of the nature of OSF Teacher Certification, to better know if it’s for you. It’s a ‘first pass’ at the complex array of considerations hidden behind the teaching veil, all required to effectively facilitate these transformative sessions.

Unless you have many years’ experience with this practice — & even if you do — this preparatory program is recommended for all OSF teacher-trainees.  It renders the rigors of OSF Teacher Certification more digestible, less overwhelming, and more fun! We successfully instigated this OSF 3-week Pre-TT program in the States, & are seeing that sufficient experience in the less-demanding-but-rigorous atmosphere of OSF Pre-TT makes all the difference in maximum digestion during Certification and, ultimately a gratifying & successful teaching career. Though there are no short-cuts in this training, we come to appreciate the rich rewards of an authentic, grounded process that guides us smoothly along our journey.

** If you’ve already had the equivalent of one two-week OSF workshop, this 3-week workshop will complete your prerequisites for our next OSF Teacher Certification Programs during 2018/19 in Seattle or in Europe.**

A rigorous, soul-expanding program, OSF Teacher Certification gives a solid grounding in methods & deep understanding of the work, ultimately empowering teachers & their students to expand OSF to adapt to changing circumstances in our lives & worlds, & integrate it with other practices they embrace. A key mission is individual creative empowerment as an instigator of positive change on the planet.

“Holding this program at Felinganol is an extra bonus for us. I find it among the most special places on the earth, with a stream, organic garden & meals, & ‘one of the 10 most spectacular hidden beaches on the planet’ a 5-minute drive away. Training together in such a magical location immeasurably enhances the learning experience.”  Stephanie
